Responsibilities
The V&V Engineer will:
- Assist the customer with developing procedures and practices
- Provide Platform and JSE SME level system knowledge
- Contribute throughout the V&V process from planning to reporting
- Represent the interest of JSE DTTRs at stakeholder meetings
Roles & Responsibilities
- Read and understand customer requirements documents (test plans, training plans, etc.), and assist with requirements refinement, when ambiguities are found
- Translates customer requirements into modeling and simulations requirements
- Contribute to writing of V&V test plans, generating test cards and planning of test execution
- Utilize requirements management tools to trace requirements to test cases and results
- Convey intent of test cards and test points to operations teams to be captured for scenario development
- Understanding of how to classify data (SCGs, etc)
- Become qualified JSE Test Conductor
- Ability to lead test team through execution of test points
- Knowledgeable to answer test card and test plan questions with pilots/team
- Lead missions to be effective and efficient
- Work with JSE operators to execute scenarios to meet test points
- Collect, organize and document test results
- Identify, document and track observed discrepancies / defects
- High level of understanding of data required to meet test point objectives
- Travel required for execution and other JSE facilities
- Assist creating and maintaining data analysis tool using Python
- Processes, conditions, or analyzes raw simulation data
- Present data reports to platform SMEs for analysis
- Contribute to writing of final test report
- Assists with data packaging and delivery to customers
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in an engineering discipline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience writing test plans
- Experience generating test cards based on a test plan
- Experience briefing and executing test card
- Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and organizations
- Ability to lead small teams
Desired qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in flight test (operations engineer, test conductor/director, or discipline engineer)
- Experience using Python or other data analysis tools
- Experience using Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) or Digital Integrated Air Defense System (DIADS) simulator software
- Experience using Common V&V Software tools

- Data Analysis Tools (MATLAB, Python, R, JMP)
- Experience participating in V&V test activities in software intensive or simulation environments
- Exposure to Modeling & Sim concepts & Standards
- JSE Framework (ie, AFSIM)
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program Travel Requirements: Up to 20% travel may be required. Clearance Requirements: Active Secret security clearance with the ability to gain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance. Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility desired. U.S. Citizenship is required The expected pay range for this position in California is $120,000/year to $185,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
