Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Power Systems Division (PSD) Gas Prime Power Sales & Business Development Manager in Richmond, Virginia. The Gas Prime Power Sales & Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of the Power Systems Division by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and managing key client relationships. The focus of this role will be to grow Carter's gas prime power opportunities. The individual in this role is critical for driving revenue growth, developing strategic sales plans, and fostering strong relationships with key clients. Seeking candidates with a minimum twenty years of experience in sales and business development in Caterpillar electric power generation field. Bachelor's degree in Business Management.

Requirements for the Gas Prime Power Sales & Business Development Manager position include:
  • Strong background in sales and business development within the load bank manufacturing industry, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to drive revenue growth.
  • Self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
  • Strong electrical and technical aptitude.
  • Strong business acumen; able to accurately forecast revenue, profitability, and margins.
  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must possess a strong sense of urgency and a desire to exceed customer expectations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to engage in effective and persuasive discussions on complex topics with leadership and other company personnel.
  • Strong leadership skills and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Must be willing to travel and work hours required for job and customer demand.
  • Clean driving record and a valid driver's license required.
  • Frequent travel is required - overnight or out town via car or airplane.
  • Must be able to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical requirements must be met for the Gas Prime Power Sales & Business Development Manager job, including regularly being required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
