Occupational Therapist Rehabilitative Services - Outpatient Pediatrics Full Time 84325BR Job Summary The Senior Staff Therapist, Occupational Therapist III, reports to the Clinical Supervisor, Occupational Therapy and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The Senior Therapist works primarily with adult and geriatric patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, although pediatric and adolescent patients may also be treated. The Senior Therapist demonstrates a solid knowledge base within a wide range of diagnoses including general medicine, orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary in the adult and/or pediatric setting. Under general supervision and within a specific therapy discipline, the Senior Therapist independently performs complex patient evaluations and therapeutic interventions; serves as a mentor to staff and consultant to other medical professionals in patient evaluations, therapeutic intervention planning or intervention requiring discipline specific skills. The Senior Therapist makes recommendations in patient care procedures, protocols or programs related to the discipline specific areas, and instructs therapists and other medical professionals in the theory, application and/or performance of discipline specific skills. While performing job duties, the Senior Therapist may also supervise support personnel as allowed by discipline specific State Practice Acts including Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides as well as O.T. and C.O.T.A. students. The Senior Therapist actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, clinical education programs, and inservices and staff development activities. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $58.48 - $78.93 (Hourly Rate).
