Job Summary

Manages all well-being offerings, ensuring that offerings are aligned with the Benefits strategy and the needs of the Northwestern community. Serves as the primary contact for child and adult care vendors, employee assistance program, and other well-being initiatives. Regularly reviews utilization data and other feedback mechanisms to determine effectiveness of offerings and adjusts as necessary. Focuses on the promotion of offerings to Northwestern community, leveraging various communication vehicles to build awareness. Writes and coordinates all well-being communications and serves as primary editor and content producer for Well-being website. Reports to the Director of Benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primary contact for child and adult care vendors, employee assistance program, and other well-being offerings. Regularly reviews utilization data and other feedback mechanisms to determine effectiveness of offerings and adjusts as necessary. Establishes relationships via quarterly check-ins to ensure needs of the University are being met.
  • Develops a communications strategy and campaign to increase both awareness and utilization by the Northwestern community of well-being offerings, with a focus on child and adult care, mental health resources, and programs that address chronic conditions.
  • Keeps up to date on all Northwestern benefits offerings and collaborates with Benefits team members to ensure alignment and consistent messaging.
  • Manages budget and resource allocation for effective program operations, including maintaining records of expenses.
  • Directs the Well-being Champions cohort, leveraging their partnership to offer programming and support to the community.
  • Re-designs the Well-being website to amplify the resources available to the community and showcase programs that address specific needs.
  • Oversees ongoing well-being resources to the community, such as lactation rooms, quarterly coffee & connection events, and flu shot administration.
  • Provides workshops/consultations on a limited basis, implementing a sign-up sheet and schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of well-being, work/life, or health communications experience in higher ed, non-profit or agency setting.
  • Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to strategically manage programs and adjust to changes as needed.
  • Track record of building relationships, including with vendors.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and email platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with budget management

Target hiring range for this position will be between $79,000 - $89,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
