Description

The Financial Analyst provides accounting, reporting, and financial analysis of operational results. Provides financial analysis and support to Finance. Involved in long-term financial planning, budgeting, forecasting. Evaluates and analyzes ROIs of various initiatives, new business cases, and process improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time, with or without notice. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.



  • Compile and interpret financial data, focusing on P&L performance and organizational KPI's.
  • Develops, analyzes and communicates financial and operational reports and projections and other analyses as directed
  • Provide financial management reporting, variance research, and trend analysis
  • Perform financial and scenario analysis (collaborating with cross-functional teams to inform strategic planning and business decisions
  • Work toward fully automated monthly financial reporting
  • Assist with annual budget prep, forecasting, and modeling
  • Contract rate analysis
  • Operational reporting and forecasting
  • Evaluate business cases
  • Evaluate, analyze, and implement reporting process improvements
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses
  • Other duties as assigned

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent


Related experience:



  • 3-5 years relevant FP&A experience
  • Experience extracting and combining data from multiple sources


REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:



  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
  • Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in big data analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of project management and ability to handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex/voluminous financial data
  • Consistently exhibits sound judgement and makes timely decisions


Technical Skills:



  • Working knowledge of process improvement, continuous improvement, and project management
  • Experience with Business Objects, DataRails, or other BI tool preferred

  • Valid TWIC Card
