Overview

The Automation Architect will lead the organization's Robotic Process Automation (RPA) strategy, driving efficiency and digital transformation through the design, development, and execution of automation solutions (50%). This role ensures automation initiatives align with governance, compliance, and technology standards to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing deployments (20%). Additionally, the Lead Architect will foster IT talent growth by providing training, mentorship, and career development opportunities in automation (20%). Lastly, they will spearhead change management efforts, promoting adoption, educating business users on best practices, and staying ahead of industry advancements (10%).



Responsibilities

RPA Strategy, Development, and Execution (50%)

    Develop and execute the organizations Robotic Process Automation (RPA) strategy, aligning with business objectives and digital transformation goals.
  • Ensure RPA solutions are optimized and perform to defined service levels
  • Identify automation opportunities by collaborating with business units to assess processes, document requirements, and determine feasibility.
  • Oversee the end-to-end automation lifecycle, including process analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Optimize existing RPA solutions by monitoring performance, analyzing metrics, and making improvements for efficiency and reliability.
  • Coordinate with IT and business stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of RPA with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS, etc.).

Governance, Compliance, and Technology Evaluation (20%)

  • Ensure governance, security, and compliance in automation deployments, maintaining adherence to IT and regulatory standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new RPA tools and technologies to enhance automation capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including process maps, technical specifications, and operational guidelines.

Upskilling IT Talent into RPA Roles (20%)

  • Upskill current IT talent by identifying skill gaps, providing structured RPA training programs, and mentoring employees into automation roles.
  • Partner with HR and Learning & Development teams to design internal RPA certification programs and career progression pathways for IT staff.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning, encouraging IT professionals to explore automation, AI, and low-code/no-code technologies.

Change Management and Adoption (10%)

  • Provide training and guidance to business users on automation best practices and citizen development initiatives.
  • Lead change management and communication efforts to drive automation adoption across the organization.
  • Stay update on industry trends and advancements in AI-driven automation, intelligent automation (IA), and hyper-automation to drive innovation.


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience with process optimization.
  • Understanding of Agile methodology.
  • Experience in Business Analysis, Robotic Process Automation, or in a related area.
  • Extensive experience in UiPath and knowledge with other equivalent platforms
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills and willingness to actively contribute to a team environment.
  • Effective, customer service focused communication skills. High level of resourcefulness and responsiveness.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years of RPA experience or equivalent experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business Administration, or related discipline with an Information Technology focus or equivalent experience required.
  • 2-5 years of technology-related experience.
  • Previous experience with RPA with UiPath or one of the following: Power Automate, Automation Anywhere or Blue Prism.
  • Ability to work effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised and independently.
