Overview
Engineering Technician Supports manufacturing production by performing a variety of technical tasks, including testing, troubleshooting, and modifying components and systems.
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities
Assists engineers in the design, development, and testing of products, systems, and equipment.
- Supports product manufacturing from initial concept, drawings, feasibility, production hand-off, quality control, and release.
- Maintains written work instructions, set up documentation, and inspection reports.
- Proposes work and rework plans to produce parts that meet customer expectations.
- Assists process engineering team with preventative and corrective action plans.
- Participates in design of parts, assemblies, tools, and packaging.
- Records and analyzes time, motion, methods, and speed involved in operations throughout facility. Assesses operations data such as fatigue rate, time to complete, and more.
- Communicates workflow, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization to operations leadership via charts, graphs, and diagrams.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and suggests enhancements to engineering practices or tools.
- Manage program and launch processes as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Skills Requirements
- Familiarity with engineering tools, equipment, and software.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and production techniques.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Solid attention to detail and organizational skills.
Educational Requirements
- Associate's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience Requirements
- One year of experience as a technician.
- Prior experience in the manufacturing industry.
