About the Role:
This position is for an experienced OT Operations Specialist to support Woodsides' International Region operations. The OT Operations Specialist leads the OT Operations service line, and works with cybersecurity, OT engineering, asset engineering and the broader digital team to ensure the reliability, availability and security of critical OT systems.
- Reports to Manager, Digital Operations (International)
- Direct management of contractor service providers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
TECHNICAL
- Responsible for the continual service operations and service delivery of OT systems and services within the region.
- Responsible for monitoring and managing OT services to OT system reliability and performance KPIs and metrics.
- Responsible for the consistent execution of maintenance strategies and plans, according to procedures for OT (documented SAP work management)
- Provide L1 and L2 OT infrastructure support and support OT Cybersecurity incident response as required.
- Provide OT Service Incident Management and Resolution, Service Request fulfillment support.
- Work closely with OT Engineering to ensure OT architecture designs are effective in terms of its maintainability, defensibility and resiliency
- Contribute to OT project requirements and standards documentation
- Contribute to cybersecurity assessments (CSA) and design reviews for OT systems
- Contribute to producing and maintaining of OT asset registers, documentation and overall knowledge of the International OT environments.
WORK PROCESSES & SYSTEMS
- Execute OT maintenance activities to maintain compliance
- Support OT Engineering with the Continuous Improvement/Defect Elimination process for OT
- Attend regular online meetings across multiple time zones
- Provide input to weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to Digital leadership
- Support the delivery of change through the Management of Change (MoC) process
- Responsible for operational approval as part of the ITIL change process
- Document, manage and remediate OT business risk
COLLABORATION
- Daily engagement with instrument, automation and control engineers daily
- Focal point for OT Managed Service Provider providing line leadership and management of OT MSP and contract resources
- Collaboration with OT Engineering for technical and process alignment
- Contribute to the creation of a culture of cyber awareness, cyber resiliency and cyber defence across the cyber team and adjacent teams i.e. Digital, Surface Engineering, Asset Operations etc.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience with managing or working on OT, control systems and related technologies
- Experience working for owner/operators in the Energy industry or similar
- Experience working with engineering risk management practices (JRA, JHA, HAZOP, LOPA, Risk Bowties, Performance Standards) will be highly regarded
- Strong communication, organizational skills with good stakeholder management skills
- Strong solution design, documentation and technical writing skills is essential
- Direct experience in OT, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), IEC 61511 Functional Safety, Process Safety and Critical Infrastructure environments is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of frameworks including ITIL, NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-82, NIST 800-207, NIST 800-160v1, IEC 62443, CIS, ISO 27001, SANS ICS/OT Critical Controls will be highly regarded
- Experience managing technical teams, able to mentor, coach, motivate and lead. Teams includes managed service providers working local or remote.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in STEM from an Industry recognized institution
- Networking qualification such as Cisco CCNA will be highly regarded

TECHNICAL
- Exposure to industrial control systems including SCADA, PLC, DCS, HMI and instrumentation
- Hands on experience maintaining and troubleshooting OT network switching, routing and firewalling including knowledge of common industrial protocols (VLAN, VRF, VPN tunnels)
- Demonstratable real world experience managing AWS/Azure cloud environments
- Experience with common OT infrastructure including servers, operating systems, active directory, virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure (VxRail, Azure Stack HCI)
- Understanding of reliability engineering principles and processes such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and FMEA
- Experience with Technology Service Operations within an mid to large Energy or Resource sector is highly desirable.
- Experience with ITIL processes, ServiceNOW ITSM is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting in an operations, maintenance and reliability engineering capacity within an Energy or Resource sector asset is highly desirable.
