The Warehouse Supervisor is a hands-on supervisor who is responsible for all receiving processes, materials control, materials delivery, and all improvement initiatives. This position is also a key enabler of lean and continuous improvement in the plant. In addition, this position is accountable for materials department indirect labor productivity and the warehouse. Key performance indicators for this position are inventory turns, inventory accuracy along with receiving velocity and accuracy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Primary point of responsibility for receiving and warehouse management for the site.

* Warehouse Supervisor provides leadership, guidance and training in all warehouse functional areas, including receiving, warehousing, cycle counting, and material handling. To include, but not limited to, equipment, software, and company policies and procedures.

* Demonstrated understanding of development, implementation and maintenance of PFEP.

* Assures that the highest standards are maintained for safety, housekeeping, and compliance with all government and company standards. Conduct and record regular safety meetings and training.

* Ensures optimization of all material flow activities including inventory control, materials movement, and indirect materials management. Audits incoming shipments and inventory to ensure accuracy.

* Warehouse Supervisor ensures all materials are picked properly and delivered to POU in a timely manner.

* Responsible for the development, implementation, support and compliance of the Materials standard work processes and systems to facilitate the fulfillment process from receiving and warehousing, through product assembly.

* Develop and drive countermeasures for underperforming key processes. Leads continuous improvement projects as assigned.

* Provide leadership in selecting, developing and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of materials functions and operating goals and objectives.

* Manage materials and inventory in a manner consistent with the requirements of a Lean manufacturing environment.

* Engages in the typical responsibilities of a supervisor requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating.

* Organize activities & assigning jobs accordingly to the staff requirements.

* Promote APICS certification within the facility.

* Develop and implement a professional development program for materials personnel.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Training:

* In-depth knowledge of computerized integrated information systems (manufacturing, materials management and distribution) and a superior understanding of manufacturing material flow in a plant.

* Must possess a strong customer service orientation and provide dedicated support of internal customer requirements.

* Must be a proactive change agent and possess leadership skills to build and maintain a team oriented environment while leveraging lean methodologies.

* Must have solid interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff and to interact with various departments throughout the organization.

* Must be a flexible, decisive and proactive problem solver.

* Must know how to influence bottom line results.

* Must be a strong communicator and possess strong organizational skills, with ability to work on multiple priorities at once.

* Must be able to work well in high pressure, fast-paced environment and be proficient at conflict resolution.

* Must be proficient in information technology systems utilized in Materials Management

* Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings, blue prints, assembly drawing, schematics and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.

* Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree preferred.

* APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) required or hiring commitment to obtain in first 18 months of employment.

* A minimum of 5 years management experience in a manufacturing environment and/or inventory control.

* Preferred 3 plus years' experience in purchasing and procurement.

* A minimum of 3 years in Supervisorial experience focusing on standardizing planning & execution, reducing sourcing complexity, and talent development.

* Have knowledge and experience with warehouse organization and maximizing space requirements.

* Experience with rate-based or flow line (non-MRP) and job shop manufacturing environments.

* Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes.

* Experience with visual management systems.

* Experience with SAP preferred.
