Overview TRC is looking for a Senior Data Architect to join its delivery team and support the development and execution of industry leading solutions for some of North America's largest utilities customers. In this role you will work directly with our customers, our technical teams, and industry partners to position for, respond to, and deliver solutions. This role may require travel up to 50%, otherwise it can be accomplished from most cities across the US. Responsibilities * GIS Data Architecture: Lead the architectural design and implementation of enterprise-level GIS solutions on both VM based and cloud native platforms for the extraction, translation, and loading of GIS data. Develop scalable, resilient, and adaptable solutions to meet current and future business needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage GIS systems, data, and services into broader technology initiatives. * Client Engagement: Act as a technical liaison between the TRC GIS team and client IT and business leads providing insights and solutions to address geospatial, system, and business challenges. Conduct client presentations, workshops, and demonstrations to showcase our GIS capabilities and services. * Business Development: Assist in the pursuit of new business opportunities within the geospatial technology sector by serving as a technical subject matter expert in Data Architecture. Work with clients and TRC business development to assess client needs to align our GIS capabilities with their business objectives. Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute strategic plans for business growth. Publish articles, blogs, technical interviews, and conference presentations to support raising our profile as an innovative-focused solution organization. * Proposal Development: Work closely with the proposal development team to create compelling proposals and bid responses based on technical approaches and lessons learned from other projects. Ensure that technical solutions align with client requirements and industry best practices. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree from an accredited school or university is required. * 12+ years of progressive, related experience in the GIS industry. * Demonstrates expert knowledge of GIS and related subject areas. * Demonstrated knowledge of gas, electric, or water utility operations and familiarity with Esri ArcGIS Utility Network and/or Geometric Network models. * Demonstrated experience with automation tools such as SAFE FME for automating GIS tasks and workflows and familiarity with Esri Model Builder for creating geoprocessing models. * Possesses extensive expertise in technical GIS applications, concepts, principles, and theories. * Understands industry-specific subject areas, including regulatory requirements, business processes, and technical challenges. * Able to quickly comprehend new functions and capabilities of new technologies. * Ability to clearly define, estimate, and write detailed project scope documents and respond to request for proposals. * Leads comprehensive strategy and delivery for assigned projects and internal initiatives, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines. * Communicates technical information in a logical, organized, coherent, and persuasive manner, both written and verbally. * Delegates and manages tasks on assigned workstreams and/or projects, providing effective guidance for others. * Collaborates seamlessly with other teams/workstreams, as well as client representatives, to align tasks with overarching project priorities and goals. * Provides comprehensive mentoring, training, and guidance for GIS technical processes to junior staff. * Strong knowledge of Agile and/or Waterfall project management, including WBS definition, scope, schedule, and risk management. * Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders, and the ability to present complex GIS concepts to non-technical audiences. * Demonstrates initiative in seeking out work, new responsibilities, and work challenges. * Displays responsible positive behaviors for consistency, predictability, and reliability at work to complete assignments and meet deadlines. * Excellent demonstration of written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to interact and represent TRC effectively with client teams including project sponsors and other stakeholders. * Passion for staying current on emerging technologies and identifying opportunities for innovative solutions that solve challenging problems for our clients and the industries we serve. * Ability to travel up to 50%. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
