This position will serve as an Events Associate, reporting to the Director of Operations. Position is envisioned to overlap, and work hand in hand with, the
PSI Events Manager until that incumbent's departure in Fall 2025.
The candidate will work with N.C.
PSI leadership, faculty, communications and administrative staff, campus stakeholders and external partners to manage all events, from start to finish, that take place at the state-of-the-art Plant Sciences Building, which opened in April 2022.
The term of this position is for eleven months, with a possibility for extension beyond the period pending successful performance and availability of funds.
Primary Responsibilities
This is a front-facing, visible role that will be directly interfacing with faculty, staff and students at all levels. Specifically, the position independently handles the planning and management of all N.C.
PSI events, including seminar series, webinars, workshops, community social hours and game nights, industry partner breakfasts, hackathons, holiday parties, poster sessions and more. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Coordinating all logistics for the events including assisting with event space preparations and A/V setup.
* Obtaining quotes and organizing contracts with appropriate internal and external vendors.
* Communicating and promoting events to appropriate target audiences.
* Planning and executing all internal
PSI community events.
* Managing the event space request form and process and coordinating with event. organizers.
* Collaborating with the communications team to develop event materials.
* Facilitating building tours for groups hosting events in the
PSB.
* Coordinate and assign tasks to student interns related to
PSI events.
* Fostering a strong community within N.C.
PSI that others want to be a part of.
* Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 30-40 hours per week. Some evenings and required to support after hours events, as well as a few weekend events per year. |
