SERVICE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

The IPEG Service Manager is responsible for supervising the service technicians and for managing the day-to-day operations of the shop.

The duties of the Service Manager include managing all service work; tracking and expediting jobs to satisfy customer promise dates; and overseeing shop equipment operation and maintenance. The Service Manager shall provide technical expertise in repairing various equipment including motors, pumps, gearboxes, and mixers as well as manufacturing and machining of parts. In addition, the Service Manager has a responsibility for working closely with the Operations Manager and other departments to assure our customers receive the highest quality products delivered in an efficient and timely manner.

Essential Job Function

• Shop and job site safety management in accordance with OTC Safety Policy.
• Supervision of shop and field service technicians.
• Scope development and labor estimates for service work.
• Execution of service work in accordance with OTC's Quality Management System. This includes accurate documentation of the work performed.
• Performing warranty evaluations.
• Maintain a full understanding of service-related procedures and business policies.
• Requirements
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Fundamental understanding of rotating equipment, fabrication, equipment rigging, and machine shop practices. Knowledge of the use and maintenance of shop and field service equipment and tools.
• Competent in using measuring devices with accuracy to 0.0001 inches.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in constructive and timely manner.
• Understanding of project planning and production scheduling.
• Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner.

Other Skills/Abilities

• Basic knowledge of welding procedures.
