Description of Work
The Budget Analyst provides informational support to the Director of Budgets and Senior Budget Analyst to facilitate effective data driven decisions. The position provides comparative analysis of budget, position control, and financial data contained in the University's Banner System. This position will be responsible for all functions related to the position control processes for the University. Additional responsibilities include assisting the Senior Budget Analyst with preparing and presenting budgetary information and guidance to all departments and units. This position will proactively seek to determine the needs of the units it supports to provide effective and efficient customer service and provide recommendations on complex and unique financial issues based on projections for spending and the current/projected fiscal environment.
The position will perform budget variance analysis, prepare and input standard budget entries, and organizing and maintaining data and records in support of budget transactions. The Budget Analyst is expected to independently perform standard periodic budgetary processes and tasks and coordinate and communicate effectively with all university departments.

Minimum Training and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of related experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
Management Preferences
Proficiency using Microsoft Excel.
