We help our customers to create personal hygiene products that people love to use, from invigorating shampoos to relaxing bath bubbles, from sensual soaps to deodorants that stay fresh all day. Our highly experienced perfumers combine detailed consumer insights with cutting-edge technology to design products with the feel-good freshness consumers are looking for.

Reporting to a Category Director, as a Creative Fragrance Team Director (CFTD) in our Fragrance Division you will be responsible for all fragrance development activities within Personal Wash, Skin & Deodorant categories which includes defining creative strategy, interpreting briefs and recommending creative directions for our key local and global consumer product accounts. In this role, you will be taking a leadership position on many projects as well as strategic initiatives and working within a global team. You will work directly with perfumers to develop and focus creative ideas as well as manage project assignments and the creative process. You will be responsible for selecting winning fragrance themes and allocating internal and external resources according to the win-rate initiative.

This position is onsite in our East Hanover NJ creative centre with option of 1 day from home.




  • Fragrance Development: Accountable for all briefing/fragrance development activity within categories, working with Category Heads to realize fragrance development goals aligned with strategic plan. Contribute to the fragrance development process, working alongside account managers, perfumers, fragrance marketing, research, and laboratory experts to identify winning fragrance directions. Critique perfumers' submissions to meet the creativity and time constraints of new product launches.


  • Manage and Mentor: Mentor teams to guide more junior evaluators. Manage/support/train direct teams in partnership with Category Head. Allocate team resources to meet official product service and proactive briefs. Facilitate category initiatives to build our expertise in the category and create "best in class" fragrances to meet customer needs. Build your category expertise to provide guidance and solutions to clients and client challenges.


  • Research and analyze market trends: Participate in olfactive analysis of new products to identify interesting notes for creative fragrance development, candidates for benchmark testing, and innovative product forms. Anticipate market tastes and work closely with Marketing on proactive concept generation and new fragrance/product ideas. Define fragrances to be tested and translate Consumer Market Research results into olfactory guidelines for perfumers, while working with laboratories to test product stability.



You?



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 12+ years fragrance evaluation experience, at least 4+ years leading key projects.
  • Olfactive acuity and knowledge of fragrance families and market types.
  • Highly creative and able to think, develop and communicate a strategic creative plan.
  • Good insight and exposure to trends that could be interpreted into new fragrance ideas.
  • Knowledge of technical problem-solving, regulatory issues, client requirements and expectations and marketing ability.
  • Global / International experience desirable

Job Title and Base Salary commensurate with education and experience. $170k-$250k per year.
