Job Summary
The ISO Systems & Sustainability Manager is responsible for management and maintenance of all the local requirements under the ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System (EMS), ISO 45001 - Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), and ISO 50001 - Energy Management System (EnMS) for the Plant (Production Unit), in accordance with the current ISO Standards, as well as all Sustainability initiatives. This role must collaborate closely with the Site EHS/OHS and Energy Functional Managers / Representatives who provide input into the EMS, OHSMS, & EnMS from their respective local functional roles, as well as with Regional and Global EHS/OHS counterparts.
The Manager - ISO Systems & Sustainability is a key hands-on member of the Site Management Team and drives the Site's performance against the criteria set for by the applicable ISO Standards (EMS, OHSMS, EnMS), global ISO Management Handbooks, Standard Operating Procedures, Guiding Documents. This position is responsible for the gathering and upkeep of data, documentation, communication, and provision of periodic ISO Key Performance Indicators (KPIs / EnPIs) and other Metrics, as well as of periodic Management Reviews to Site Management relative to ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, & Sustainability systems and efforts, and participates as auditor in Regional Audits of these systems at other Sites, while actively participates as an auditee in Global, Regional, Internal (local) and/or External Audits (by certifying body) of said local systems.
This position collaborates closely with Site EHS, Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Technical Center, Document Control, Purchasing, Human Resources, et al., and is supported by the ISO Management System Administrator, in order to drive the ISO Management Systems and Sustainability at all levels within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manages and develops the local EHS/OHS & Energy Team in terms of the applicable and most current ISO Management Systems' Standards, and Sustainability initiatives.
- Assures conformity with the current state of EHS/OHS and Energy policies of Fresenius Kabi globally, regionally, and locally, as well as with global, regional, and/or local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Implements and maintains the standards ISO 14001, ISO 45001, & ISO 50001 in cooperation with the local teams, and site-specific Sustainability efforts.
- Conducts and monitors local audits, develops and annual auditing plan, and participates in audits (as an auditee) by Global EHS/OHS, Regional EHS/OHS, by peers in same role from other sister Plants, or by external auditors (certifying body), and/or participates in audits (as an auditor) at other sister Plants within Business Unit Operations - North America (BU-Ops-NAM).
- Defines internal needs to comply with global EHS/OHS and Energy standards and determines appropriate Goals, Objectives/Targets, and KPIs / EnPIs; and tracks progress against them.
- Expands and further develops internal EHS/OHS and Energy KPI reporting in an effort of, and for, continual improvement, sustainability, and of critical importance to Site Management.
- Serves as the Integrated Energy-, Environmental-, and Occupational Health & Safety Management Representative (i.e. Integrated EnMR, EMR, & OSHMR, in short, "EEOHSMR") for the Plant Certifications (current version of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, & ISO 50001), in particular:
- Responsible for regular maintenance and upkeep of the three ISO Management Systems through regular reviews and updates of the Integrated EEOHMS, and Sustainability initiatives / projects, as necessary.
- Review of the implementation status of the ISO Management Systems (if applicable).
- Improve the Energy, Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, and Sustainability performance of the Site, in pro of BU Operations - North America, Fresenius Kabi USA, LLC, and Fresenius Kabi AG.
- Reports on EnMS, EMS, & OHSMS issues to the Plant Management Team, Regional EHS, Global EHS/OHS, and communicates appropriate information of these Management Systems to the workforce.
- Assist the Site Compliance Team with ISO 9001, such as in audit support and reporting, as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- Expert knowledge and execution in the field of OHS/EHS, Energy, Sustainability, and ISO Management Standards, including all applicable federal, state, municipal regulations (e.g. OSHA, EPA, et al.) and ISO Standards' requirements.
- Experience as an ISO 14001, ISO 45001, & ISO 50001 Auditor. ISO 9001 Auditor is a plus.
- 5-10 years of experience within the field.
- Experienced Manager with a track record of managing and executing an Integrated ISO Management Systems' and Sustainability function.
- Strong interpersonal skillset for influencing teams and driving action even with a Team composed of non-direct reporting relationships.
- Good leadership skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task competing priorities.
- Strong working experience with Document Control and CAPA platforms.
- Business-oriented, self-dependent, motivated, targeted, structured, analytical, energetic, able to build relationships, confident, creative, empathetic, team-oriented, deadline-conscious.
- Ability to exert influence and possesses excellent negotiation skills to drive results.
