Under general supervision, it ensures radiologic and cardio graphic quality and safety at the highest level for the department of Radiology and Cardiology by assisting with ongoing planning and operations, process improvement and departmental strategic plans. Responsibilities include management of the General and Vascular Ultrasound Department
Education Bachelor's degree in a related field. Additional training and certifications in radiology management and quality assurance are preferred. Experience 3 years of related experience in process improvement and quality within a customer service setting, with a strong emphasis on quality metrics, reporting, and managing a hospital-based radiology department. Licensures, Certifications Certification through American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Certification in Quality Management or Lean Six Sigma. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees and facilitates the continuing education, mandatory education and development of the staff. Monitors training effectiveness and provides a method to continuously improve.
- Oversees implementation of regulatory requirements including reviewing TJC requirements, reviewing Maryland Department of Environment requirements, managing dose management initiatives, and participation in hospital regulatory meetings.
Policy Development
- Assist in development, implementation, and maintenance of policies.
- Designs and manages a process to capture variances from policies and procedures, as well as customer service expectations.
- Provides oversight in classification of customer dissatisfactions and deviations from procedures and policies. Develops acceptable Quality Limits (AQL's). Develops and maintains tracking and trending of complaints and deviations. Works with team to establish relevant quality indicators in all areas.
- Ensures that records management and retention is in compliance with governing agencies and that there is uniform handling in all departments.
- Review and prepare quality measure reports, including Hospital Compare data, and assist radiologists with peer review by pulling cases and printing reports.
Patient SAFEY Improvement Initiatives
- Follow up on Quantros reports

Radiation SAFETY program

- Monitor digital imaging equipment stats to ensure dose reduction is being achieved

- Develops and delivers ongoing quality improvement training to all team members. Works with team to identify opportunities for improvement, target quality challenges and implements revised processes.
- Leads cross-functional quality improvement projects. Identifies system process changes so that they are designed, validated and implemented while minimizing unexpected results. Provides consistent documentation of change. Develops and implements a formal change control policy, ensuring departments comply to policy.
- Ensures post implementation reviews of all changes in the department and reports on the impact. Ensures successful implementation of all corrective action performed in the department.

- Monitors, investigates and responds to customer feedback, modifying office systems, processes and patient care as needed.
- Meets or exceeds patient statistical targets.
Patient Care Management:
- Manages the clinical practice of radiology in designated clinical area.
- Participates in the development of patient care programs and/or expansion of services.
- Interprets radiology standards to Radiology personnel, other departments, physicians, patients and the community.
Financial Management:
- Manages the Department's budget and prepares variance reports as appropriate and makes recommendations for capital budget in consultation with appropriate Hospital staff.

- Processes payroll for assigned areas.
- Maintains inventory and analyzes cost of supplies and services.
Human Resources Functions:
- Manages human resources within established productivity guidelines and the personnel budget.
- Facilitates training and development efforts.

- Monitors and reviews work performance of the staff.
- Interviews and selects personnel.

- Office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like except when working in the clinical areas of the Radiology Department or assisting with patient-related activities.

Pay Range $77,201.00 - $138,961.82
