Description

This Director, Human Resources position is for Scripps Coastal Medical Group.

The Director will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, and organizational development. This leadership role will collaborate closely with senior management to drive HR strategies that support the group's mission and enhance the employee experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare HR, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of developing innovative HR solutions in a fast-paced, evolving environment.



* Lead HR strategy development and implementation to align with the medical group's goals.

* Oversee recruitment, retention, and workforce planning efforts.

* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and industry-specific regulations.

* Develop and manage employee relations programs that foster a positive and inclusive workplace.

* Implement compensation strategies that are competitive and equitable.

* Lead HR teams in the development of training, employee engagement, and wellness initiatives.

* Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on HR-related matters



* Collaborate with Senior Leadership in the identification, design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative programs that are aligned with Scripps Coastal Medical Center's mission, vision, goals, and initiatives.

* Consult on and conduct all levels of ER investigations, helps to form conclusions and drive recommendations, and serves as advisor and counsel



* As a strategic business partner, designs, implements and coordinates programs to enhance and maintain quality of work life, employee satisfaction, recruitment, and retention



* Consults and collaborates with management in the areas of workforce planning, organizational development, compensation and benefits design and administration, workers' compensation, and related programs and practices.

* Provide leadership in policy development and administrative workforce initiatives.

* Coordinates with Scripps Health administrative services (e.g. legal, HR, payroll, etc.)

* Leads and supports HR training to medical group leadership and front line staff

Qualifications

REQUIRED Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, ideally within healthcare.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR laws and regulations, particularly in healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of human resources program design, development, implementation, and evaluation required.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships and influence all levels of management and employees.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead a team effectively.



PREFERRED Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:



  • Master's degree, health care experience and SPHR preferred.
