As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager based in Morgan Hill, CA you will have responsibility for leading and supporting engineering efforts in manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for managing end-of-life (EOL) part transitions, alternate source evaluations, compliance reporting, supplier quality issues, and cost reduction initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent. This position will be reporting to the Director of Manufacturing based in Morgan and will supervise a team of 4-6 manufacturing engineers.

Key Responsibilities include:

End-of-Life (EOL) Part & Alternate Source Management



  • Act on EOL notifications by assessing current sourcing and identifying alternate sources.
  • Oversee approval processes, re-design considerations, and lifetime buy decisions.
  • Address material shortages by identifying alternative sources or implementing design modifications.


Compliance & Regulatory Management



  • Prepare quarterly reports on battery usage, including chemical breakdown by weight.
  • Work with QV group to monitor new environmental and safety regulations, assessing their impact and managing necessary compliance actions.


Material Transition & Supplier Management



  • Assist in the technical transition of Anritsu assemblies between suppliers.
  • Identify and implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) improvements.
  • Support contract manufacturers with technical inquiries, documentation issues, and assembly/test process modifications.


Supplier Quality & Procurement Support



  • Provide technical expertise to suppliers to resolve product-related challenges.
  • Monitor supplier corrective actions and manage necessary changes in Anritsu products.


Cost Reduction & Continuous Improvement Initiatives



  • Lead teams in identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities across various technologies.
  • Manage team progress, communications, and execution of cost-reduction strategies.


Talent Acquisition & Development



  • Actively recruit top engineering talent through university partnerships and interviews.
  • Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new engineers integrate effectively into Anritsu's culture.
  • Foster career growth through mentorship, technical challenges, and professional development support.


Manufacturing Engineering Team Leadership



  • Manage the workload and priorities of the Manufacturing Engineering team to align with organizational goals.
  • Balance team resources effectively by understanding each engineer's strengths and limitations.
  • Sustain a work environment that fosters engagement, success, and professional growth.


Process & Data Management



  • Develop and maintain standard procedures for Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and ERP master data to support engineering and manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with IT to enhance data reporting and information access for engineering decision-making.


Requirements:



  • Minimum BSEE with at least 5 years technical experience.
  • Prior management experience is desirable.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and data management as it relates to Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations and reporting requirements.

The annual base salary range for this position is $135k - $185k. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
