Credit Risk Solutions (CRS) is part of Transunion's Global Solutions organization and is focused on making trust possible by delivering more accurate and comprehensive information on individuals, businesses, and assets, and their relationship with each other. Our mission is to support global commerce and consumer credit transactions by developing and providing actionable data and insights- along with customer-centric tools with which organizations can effectively discern risk and manage credit decisions for the broadest population possible.

As the Director for Alternative Data Products, you will drive the strategy, sourcing, and development of products that leverage alternative data to enhance underwriting, risk assessment, and decision-making processes. Your role will involve identifying and integrating diverse data sources, developing new products, and collaborating with regional teams to understand market-specific needs. You will lead efforts to scale alternative data products globally, ensuring they meet regulatory and customer requirements while maintaining competitive advantage.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience: 10+ years of product management experience, with a focus on data products, alternative data, or financial technology.

  • Global Expertise: Proven experience in managing products across multiple countries helpful but not required

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional and global teams, managing complex product roadmaps and multi-stakeholder projects.

  • Data Expertise: In-depth understanding of consumer data sources and their application in financial products, particularly in risk modeling and underwriting.

  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage senior stakeholders and external partners.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

    Impact You'll Make:

    Strategic Leadership:

    • Define and execute the global strategy for alternative data products, aligning with business objectives and industry needs.

    • Identify opportunities to leverage alternative data in new products and enhance underwriting models.

    • Assess emerging data trends, sources, regulations, and technologies to innovate and expand the product portfolio.

    Sourcing & Data Integration:

    • Work with Data & Analytics teams to identify and evaluate diverse alternative data sources.

    • Integrate alt data into existing and new products, and run go-to-market for new products.

    • Build partnerships with data providers and third-party vendors to acquire and integrate valuable datasets.

    • Ensure compliance with data privacy and protection regulations.

    Product Development & Management:

    • Lead the end-to-end development of alternative data products, from concept through launch.

    • Optimize and refine existing products using customer feedback, data insights, and performance metrics.

    • Collaborate with engineering, data science, and analytics teams to design scalable products.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Engage with regional teams to understand market conditions, regulatory environments, and customer behaviors.

    • Foster collaboration between global product teams, engineering, risk, and business units.

    • Act as the subject matter expert for alternative data products.

    Go-to-Market Strategy & Implementation:

    • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for alternative data products.

    • Support regional teams in product rollout, providing training, marketing materials, and ongoing support.

    • Monitor product performance and adjust strategies to meet evolving customer needs.

    Data-Driven Decision Making:

    • Leverage analytics and feedback loops to assess the impact of alternative data on product performance.

    • Continuously monitor product KPIs to ensure measurable value.

    Risk and Compliance Management:

    • Ensure products comply with regulatory standards across jurisdictions.

    • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk teams to manage risks related to alternative data usage.

    • Develop risk mitigation strategies for data-related vulnerabilities.

    Partnership & Vendor Management:

    • Establish and manage relationships with external data vendors.

    • Monitor vendor performance to ensure alignment with product goals and timelines.

    This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

    Pay Scale Information : The U.S. base salary range for this position is $150,100.00 - $225,000.00 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual's education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion's annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
