Your main responsibilities

PRIMARY FUNCTION / POSITION OVERVIEW:

Manufacturing Engineering (INDU) is a competence center in supply chain. It provides expertise for project or program support, acting as a knowledge center of product configuration, engineering, manufacturing technology and product cost management.

Supervisor of Configuration manages automation of the Supply Chain (KW) Order Processing System from the receipt of Elevator Specification from Sales & Field (KG) to actual material order and Industrialization of components in KW and suppliers. Ensure quality of KW ordering system through heavy coordination with other Supply Chain departments, and thorough configuration testing.

This Position Holder also manages a group of technical experts located in US and offshore (Requirements Engineering Team) to oversee specification and implementation of configuration and Industrialization of components in KW and Suppliers for US Product for NI (new installation) and MOD (modernization) products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Describe the key responsibilities of the position in order of importance and identify % of time spent on that responsibility.

* Manage overall process on Supply Chain and system development from Sales Order COS (Component ordering Specification) to SAP BOM (Bill of Material) configuration and Material master data maintenance for components. Ensure the product changes implementation in SAP as per CP (Change Period) scheduled plan and track changes through the closed loop INDU (Industrialization) process and KW Configuration for purchased and manufactured components.

* Cross Functional Leader identifying and engaging various key stakeholders (Material Planning, Quality, Operations, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Development, etc..) ensuring their buy-in and participation in the required change process.

* Leading and Facilitating organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions thru developing strategies and effective communication while building support for the change.

* Define strategies for process improvement of configuration and INDU (Industrialization) activities to reduce quality issues for modular and complex product change and introduction. Process improvements targeting the change management process and new product introduction process to drive Safety, Quality, Inventory, Delivery and Cost Initiatives.

* Manage Super BOMs (Bill of Materials) and product data to match product features, sales and manufacturing needs and ensure and guide team for preparation of manufacturing BOM ( Bill of Material ) from Engineering to SC (Supply Chain)

* Lead Variant Configurator programming to ensure it aligns with information in engineering documentation.

* Guide personnel in establishing variable pricing for configured products and maintain pricing variants in the Configurator.

* Objective Setting, performance review and creation of development plans for the team

* Build in-house training program, skill assessments, team building and encourage shared learning in configuration and INDU (Industrialization)

* Guide team and define validation process strategies for modular INDU (Industrialization) and configuration system.

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree

Project management experience, combined interpersonal skills, social competence

Entrepreneurial, imaginative and tenacity to achieve objectives within a changing and highly competitive market

Enthusiastic and effective team builder/player, able to maintain good relationships

SAP Variant Configuration

FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

Solid knowledge on sales to ordering process in operations (E&E - Elevator and Escalator, Automotive or Aerospace is of advantage)

Strong leadership experience on cross functional project management and change management

E&E (Elevator and Escalator) experience in technical engineering and system configuration

Familiar with product configuration and programing development
