Reports To: Head of Wealth Customized Solutions Role Summary: This Sales role serves as a critical advisor to the strategic execution., efficiency, scalability, and operational efficiency of the SMA platform. Collaborate with sales, marketing, investment, and operations teams to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the sales cycle. This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting sales teams in the investment management industry. This individual will be relied on to provide unique perspectives, recommendations, and SMA industry expertise for leadership, and the role empowers a highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented individual with exceptional communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Responsibilities:
- Sales Activation: Execute comprehensive strategies to drive asset growth for a SMAs by collaborating closely with marketing, sales, and portfolio management teams. This involves analyzing market trends, competitive landscapes, and client needs to identify opportunities for attracting new assets and retaining existing ones.
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Design and implement strategic plans, set priorities, and track progress for Third Party Wealth Managements SMA business. This includes analyzing data, working with teams such as Portfolio Management, Sales, Marketing, and Finance, and preparing presentations.
- Market Intelligence: Become the central point of contact for SMA industry insights across key distribution platforms and competitors. This requires analyzing the various channels where SMAs are offered such as RIAs and Wirehouse platforms and competitive analysis on SMA offerings from other asset managers.
- Platform Development: Manage the full lifecycle of onboarding opportunities, from initial identification to contract negotiation and onboarding. Focus on building and maintaining strong client relationships, proactively identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Project Management: Lead multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals. This involves creating compelling marketing campaigns, developing sales enablement materials, optimizing product positioning, and working with portfolio managers to ensure investment performance aligns with investor expectations.
- Proactive Problem Solving: Anticipate potential challenges and develop solutions, mitigating risks before they impact organizational objectives. This requires independent judgment, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Business Reporting: Own weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting for the Third-Party Wealth Management business for senior leadership in the Client Solutions Group and GSAM Public Investing. Consolidate qualitative business updates and analyze weekly financials to provide weekly insights into the business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Series 7,63, SIE preferred or required within first 3 months of hiring.
- 2-4 years of experience, preferably in a sales or strategic role working with senior executives
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal relationship management skills
- Background in SMAs and knowledge of the Third-Party Wealth industry preferred
Salary Range The expected base salary for this Chicago, Illinois, United States-based position is $80000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
