Job Description

Senior Analyst is responsible for underwriting and preparing financial analyses related to the purchasing of single-family homes across a variety of investment strategies and US Markets. Position will report to members of the Acquisitions Team and will work collaboratively with many constituents across the organization.
  • Underwrite potential single-family rental investments, including key revenue and expense items
  • Prepare pro-forma investment return analyses and articulate a point of view regarding assigned projects
  • Establish and build relationships with third party brokers and homeowners to drive business development initiatives
  • Research housing trends and economic indicators related to target acquisitions markets
  • Comprehensive understanding of migration patterns, employment drivers, and other growth trends within specific markets
  • Perform valuation recommendations for potential acquisitions of single-family homes or communities of homes
  • Review and interpret third party property reports and market data pertaining to select projects or markets
  • Analyze underwriting assumptions and advise the best course of action on a deal-by-deal basis
  • Monitor and leverage historical operating results to inform future acquisitions decisions
  • Assist in various parts of the deal flow process to support the team in accomplishing acquisition targets
  • Manage the due diligence process (deadlines) for properties targeted for acquisition and assemble information as directed
  • Assist team on various ad hoc projects as required

Qualifications:

  • Proven analytical skills, ability to problem solve and results / solution oriented
  • Self-motivated and proactive team player, who takes ownership of projects, has strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
  • Flexible and able to work well under pressure in a team environment
  • Strong quantitative and business writing skills
  • Execution oriented and understands how to follow steps in a process
  • Extraordinary communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members, key stakeholders in a deal, and senior professionals
  • Can develop and articulate a point of view to colleagues verbally and in writing
  • High level of focus on work quality and attention to details

**This role will report into our Charlotte, North Carolina office and work a Hybrid work schedule**

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS (Economics, Finance, or Math preferred)
  • 2 Years Relevant Work Experience
  • Highly proficient with MS Excel and knowledgeable of MS Office
  • Prior single-family home acquisition experience (preferred)
