We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lactation Specialist - Per Diem.
In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary:An expert member of the perinatal health care team who is knowledgeable, skilled and experienced in lactation and breastfeeding management. Coordinates and provides education, assistance and support to breastfeeding women and infants.Participates in the development, implementation and reinforcement of evidence-base care through programs and projects which achieve departmental goals in accordance to breastfeeding regulatory/professional standards and public health initiatives .
Job Responsibilities:
- Identifies factors and participates in programs to promote satisfaction of staff, patient, families and other disciplines.
- "Collects, assesses and documents patient healthcare data. Involves patient/family and interdisciplinary team as appropriate. Prioritizes data collection. Documents assessment in medical records."
- "Develops plan of care to attain expected outcomes.Anticipates patient needs based upon patients diagnosis/condition Develops a nursing plan of care based on agreed upon outcomes with patient/family. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team. Identifies outcomes that are realistic and measurable."
- "Implements interventions in the plan of care.Intervenes in a manner that is consistent with established plan of care. Implements interventions in a safe, timely and appropriate manner. Considers needs and behaviors of specific patient age groups and cultural groups in all patient care activities. Documents interventions per hospital standard. Identifies need for escalation based on changes in patient condition."
- "Evaluates the patient's progress towards expected outcomes. Involves the patient/family and interdisciplinary team in the evaluation process. Documents and evaluates the effectiveness of the intervention(s)."

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree.Current Certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (I.B.L.C.E.).Minimum of five years lactation consultant experience.Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills and creative problem solving ability..
