Description Our client is looking for a z/OS Systems Engineer/ Programmer whose primary responsibility will include: * Ongoing maintenance (install, patching, upgrades, administration, etc.,) of the mainframe z/OS operating system, accompanying storage systems and systems software products (e.g., database, transaction server, security management, scheduling, report distribution, etc.), and UNIX Systems Services. * Upgrades of mainframe and related storage. * The candidate will be required to provide production off hour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations. Top 3 skills: * The candidate must have experience with VTAM and TCP/IP. * 10+ years of experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD. Basic IBM utilities(IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc.) program product installations, working knowledge or the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services. * The candidate must have experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant Experience / Preferred Qualifications: * The candidate must have experience with VTAM and TCP/IP. * 10+ years of experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD. Basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc.) program product installations, working knowledge or the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services. * Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2 and AFP printing is a plus. * Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON. * Working with an enterprise wide, large scale implementation. * Excellent communications skills (Oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required. * The candidate must have experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $110.00 - $110.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
