Summary of Job Duties:The position coordinates and evaluates all elements of financial, material, and human resources for the business division of Periopeative, Interventional and Imaging Services. This position will serve as a liaison between Division Managers, and Perioperative Finance and Administration. The position will oversee Instrument/equipment tracking software (i.e. Censitrac,) property, purchasing, and loss control and asset management. Establishes policies and procedures that govern the business operations with an emphasis on loss control and appropriate supply of instrument and scope inventory/equipment.
Responsible for evaluating damaged instrumentation to determine if repairs or replacement are appropriate. Coordinates with vendors and contractors to ensure that repairs are made in a timely and efficient manner. Assess the life cycles of instrumentation/equipment and conduct cost analysis to ensure that appropriate instrument costs are covered in procedural billing. Works closely with members of Institutional Security and Support Services Asset Protection department to track and investigate loss of instrumentation and equipment. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of progressively responsible supervisor/management experience in Sterile Processing.

  • Candidate MUST have 2 years of sterile processing training or experience.

  • CRCST or CBSPD certification required within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved surgical tech program

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and maintains adequate inventory of instrumentation, trays, supplies, scopes, instrument implants, and equipment for OR.

  • Works with vendors on coordinating education sessions for surgeons, residents and OR staff.

  • Implements the control of inventory and equipment by analyzing processes and procedures to reduce loss and insure appropriate quantities are purchased without excessive duplication.

  • Oversees the instrument tagging processing making recommendations for best tagging and inventory tracking methods.

  • Develops and manages systems (Censitrac, Esims), which assure the accuracy of inventory counts and PAR levels based on usage and history of products.

  • Coordinates and assists with the budgeting processing. Executes actions to keep budget accounts at or under budget.

  • Implements the operational processes that maximize work flow and efficiencies through the use of available technologies including tracking of orders, equipment and instrumentation.

  • Monitors the procedures for requesting SPD supplies and instruments in collaboration with surgeons and ACSM's.

  • Tracks and communicates special orders to ensure availability for patient care use.

  • Participates in onboarding meetings for new incoming surgeons.

  • Stays informed of new technology and procedures in the area of processing inventory and supply management.

  • Other duties as assigned.
