What You'll Do as a Chiller Mechanic:

• Manage key service accounts and perform inspections, contract maintenance, and repairs on medium to large tonnage chillers

• Diagnose, rebuild, and optimize multi-brand systems using cutting-edge software, tools, and engineering specs

• Deliver expert onsite service, ensuring customer satisfaction and peak performance

• Communicate clearly with customers, vendors, and teammates across phone, computer, and face-to-face

• Quote labor and material for system upgrades and repairs

• Uphold top-tier safety standards and track equipment use and condition

• Work flexibly - overtime, weekends, and occasional overnights - as part of a 24/7 rotating on-call team

What We're Looking For:

• Certified Mechanical Journeyman with Red Seal Refrigeration & A/C + valid ODS

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with chillers, compressors, controls, and VFDs in commercial/industrial settings

• Skilled in diagnostics and service of boiler and steam systems

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and smart devices (tablet/smartphone)

• Solid communication skills, both written and verbal

• Safety-focused, reliable, and detail-driven

• Valid driver's license + licenses for refrigerants

• Must be available for rotating on-call shifts, including nights/weekends

**This is a Bargaining Unit Position.

Pay Range: $41.46 - $47.46 Hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.

This is a Bargaining Unit Position but is subject to all pre-hiring screening of JCI. With successful performance, JCI may recommend you to the Union Local apprenticeship program, as well as continued employment at JCI. Acceptance by Union Local must occur within 365 days of employment or will result in termination of this position. This is not a guaranty of employment or entering the Union. The Union has its own entry, qualification & screening programs.
