Purpose of the Role

At Worley, our purpose is to deliver a more sustainable world. As a Buyer II, you will play a vital role in procuring materials and equipment essential for project execution and company operations. This position supports our ambition to derive a significant portion of our revenue from sustainability-related projects by FY2026, by ensuring responsible procurement practices that align with our sustainability goals.


Key Responsibilities


  • Procurement Execution: Purchase materials and equipment on a competitive basis to meet project and company requirements, adhering to established procurement guidelines.



  • Supplier Engagement: Identify, solicit, and select reliable sources of supply for materials, equipment, and services, fostering strong supplier relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery.



  • Process Adherence: Demonstrate proficiency in purchasing principles and practices, handling procurement activities with increasing independence and initiative.



  • Collaboration: Work closely with project teams and internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with project objectives and timelines.



  • Communication: Effectively convey ideas and concepts, participating in the preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations, and reports.



  • Systems Proficiency: Utilize procurement and supply chain management systems effectively, with a solid understanding of related processes and tools.



  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of procurement processes by identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.




Qualifications / Skillset


  • Education: University degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management.



  • Experience: Typically, a minimum of three years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors.



  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess and compare supplier capabilities and proposals effectively.



  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse stakeholders.



  • Systems Knowledge: Proficient in using procurement and supply chain management systems, with a solid understanding of related processes and tools.



  • Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.



  • Sustainability Commitment: A commitment to supporting the company's sustainability goals through responsible procurement practices and supplier engagement.
