As a Residential Loan Officer, you'll help individuals and families achieve their homeownership goals while building strong community and referral relationships. You'll guide customers through the mortgage process, from application to closing, ensuring a smooth and positive experience. This position requires a credit check per 12 CFR Chapter X, Part 1026, Truth in Lending, Regulation Z.

Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and S.A.F.E. Act requirements. Must submit required information to meet registry requirements, obtain a unique identifier, and maintain the registration requirements as directed by the S.A.F.E Act.

Key Accountabilities

  • Originate regulatory-compliant residential mortgage loan applications through community outreach and referral relationships.

  • Conduct pre-qualification interviews to recommend appropriate loan programs based on customer needs.

  • Manage loan files from application through closing, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

  • Develop relationships with realtors, builders, attorneys, and other centers of influence to generate leads.

  • Promote mortgage loan programs in low-to-moderate income communities and serve as a liaison to community organizations.

  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell bank products and services or refer customers to appropriate partners.

  • Track and follow up on leads and applications, maintaining communication throughout the loan process.

  • Maintain compliance with S.A.F.E. Act registration and all applicable banking regulations.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 1+ years of residential loan processing or origination experience with a financial institution or mortgage company

Preferred:

  • Bilingual or community outreach experience a plus
