Summary of Role:

With an unbiased view, robust analytical framework, and cross-functional perspective the Sr Manager, Building Blocks will provide portfolio planning, insights and recommendations to influence strategic decision making and enable dynamic business management. They are responsible for providing leadership in the analysis and creation of US demand forecasts and being a lead voice for the Demand & Customer Planning department in the IBM process for the largest franchises and specific finance conversations. They serve as the key voice for the Demand & Customer Planning department in priority launches, strategic initiatives, the IBM Consensus process and building of the US Plan gating.

Role Responsibilities:



  • In conjunction with sales. HCI and finance teams, develops Promo GS $ Plan for assigned business unit(s) via integration of bottoms-up and top-down planning assumptions
  • Comprehends, pressure-tests and synthesizes disparate inputs from various functional areas of the organization
  • As part of the Integrated Business Management (IBM) process, owns monthly Consensus building and performance tracking for assigned business unit(s); accountable for delivering and continuously improving Consensus accuracy at brand/packtype level
  • Comprehensively analyzes the business to understand implications to Plan and Consensus
  • Develops KPI's and/or scorecards to track and monitor in-year performance and status of pipeline projects
  • Works with relevant teams to isolate and appropriately size R&Os; grasps challenges and topline/bottom line impact associated with gap-filling activities
  • Maintains thorough and explicit record of key planning assumptions by building block and growth lever
  • Participates in organizational decision-making and planning processes
  • Lead Analysis of US operational forecasts, development of key business and customer insights and provide direction/guidance to Marketing, Finance, Demand & Customer Planning Department and Supply Planning to improve the operational plans for the US region.
  • Build the US regional operational forecast and estimates for priority launches and acquisitions, utilizing data-driven analysis to support the development of the US operational executional plans. The lead within the department to Finance on gating and breakdowns for the annual US Plan, BU's, and LE's.
  • Department super-user of analytical tools (i.e., BW, Tableau, Noble Knight, Retail Decomp Tool and Horizon) with expertise in trend analysis and data mining. Lead and coordinate department work activities in support of new launches, annual planning process, and significant programs

  • Understanding of the P&L, building blocks, mix implications, and growth levers
  • Experience with retail, point of sale, and inventory data.
  • Ability to understand and explain mathematical concepts.
  • Willingness to learn and search for creative solutions. Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Working knowledge of supply chain management concepts and the IBM process.



Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:



  • Education -

    • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred


  • Experience -

    • At least 7+ years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Category Management, or Analytics
