Job Description

The Health Advancement Coordinator plays a vital role on the MU Health Advancement team by managing cross-functional coordination among medical departments, donor relations, and advancement staff. This position requires an individual with strong project management and event planning abilities, excellent communication skills, and professionalism to work with high-level stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is inquisitive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a complex academic medical environment. They must be resourceful and able to navigate institutional structures to secure the information and support needed to move projects forward. With a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, the Health Advancement Coordinator ensures seamless execution of donor engagement efforts, events, and internal operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Relations & Department Liaison:
* Serve as a liaison between medical departments, donor relations, event staff, and advancement staff to support donor cultivation and stewardship.
* Coordinate donor visits and recognition opportunities in accordance with established Health Systems protocols and in collaboration with the Central Donor Relations team.
* Work with relationship managers to ensure donor follow-ups and experiences are executed efficiently.
* In conjunction with the Advancement Prospect Research team, gather and synthesize prospect data to inform donor engagement strategies.
* Develop tailored information sheets on disease-specific topics, research areas, and institutional priorities; serve as a key point of contact for School of Medicine initiatives and assist in creating compelling case statements and collateral to advance fundraising goals.

Event Planning & Logistics:
* Plan, coordinate, and execute donor-focused outreach and internal meetings that fall below the threshold for involvement by the Senior Manager of Events - Health Advancement.
* Manage event logistics, including venue reservations, catering, parking, and materials.
* Create and manage invitation lists, RSVPs, and attendee follow-up communications.
* Coordinate virtual components of events, including webinars and livestreams.

Administrative Support:
* Prepare and develop reports and PowerBI dashboards on fundraising performance, donor activity, alumni engagement/pipeline, and strategic insights.
* Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and producing supporting materials and presentations.
* Support gift activities such as the Legacy Society, campaign, and sporting events, including data entry, communication, and event support.

Monday thru Friday 8-5

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Access; familiarity with PeopleSoft and Advance is preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $22.50-$26.00 per hour

Grade: GGS-008
