About this team:

Magnite is looking for an experienced software engineer with a strong background in full stack Javascript development. We believe engineers should be at the heart of product and business decisions - not just implementation. In this role, you will:

  • Participate in the design, development, testing, release, and maintenance of a core product offering as it relates to a critical open-source auctioning system (Prebid)

  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical expertise

  • Be a creative problem-solver able to design and implement reliable and maintainable solutions to challenging problems

  • Translate evolving business requirements into thoughtful, maintainable technical designs

  • Write clean, production-ready code with appropriate unit and integration tests

  • Balance engineering quality with the need for speed and iteration, delivering well-crafted solutions at a sustainable pace

  • Support the operation of services in production

  • Perform design and code reviews

We're looking for someone with:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in software development

  • Primary development experience in Javascript with a strong understanding of performance trade-offs, the event loop, async/await/promises, functional constructs, and other advanced topics

  • Experience with Node.js and associated build/test tools (e.g., Webpack, npm).

  • Experience writing unit tests

  • A strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and an ability to recognize the business and technical trade-offs between different solutions

  • Experience with development and CI tools like git, Jenkins, Jira

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with Linux environments and containerized development (e.g., Docker).

  • MySQL or other Relational DB experience with SQL and Table design

  • Experience building web services with other programming languages such as Java or Python

  • Experience building UIs with Javascript libraries such as React

  • Typescript

  • General Ad Technology Experience

  • Proven integration skills of prebid.js, googletag, and other relevant header bidding technologies in a production environment

In Colorado, the base salary range for this position is: $130,000 - $140,000 in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI).

In New York, the base salary range for this position is: $155,000 - $165,000 in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI).

In California, the base salary range for this position is: $145,000 - $155,000 in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI).
