Manager, Benefits Compliance and LOA
The Manager of Benefits Compliance and LOA, VP, is responsible for managing programs and functions associated with Leave of Absence (LOA) and Accommodations benefit programs. This includes developing strategies to evolve programs and ensure compliance. Overseeing vendors, contract renewals and negotiations. Establishing and maintaining benefit policies and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations across non-retirement benefit programs. Confirming project and department milestones are met.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all LOA programs (e.g. disability, sick time, parental, FMLA compliance). This includes evaluating of program design and effectiveness, setting LOA and accommodation strategy, policy development and maintenance, administration, and vendor management.
  • Manage various projects as necessary (e.g. RFPs, pandemic response, implementations, and platform upgrades).
  • Manage contracts and renewals (initiation to signature).
  • Maintain knowledge of all applicable state and federal laws and compliance requirements including the FMLA, ADA, and other federal, state, and local laws.
  • Ensure compliance for associated LOA, Accommodations, time off, and health & welfare programs, including coordination with other team members and departments, as well as updating benefit policies to reflect current regulations.
  • Produce reporting and data analysis to evaluate programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Risk and Compliance Management: Understanding and promoting a risk awareness culture, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. Ensure the right controls are in place and adhered to, to mitigate risk.
  • Monitoring and Evaluating Performance: Track team's progress against their goals, regularly provide feedback, and conduct annual performance evaluations.


Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
  • 6 years of experience Overseeing/Managing Leaves of Absence & Accommodations Programs
  • 5 years of Legislative and Benefits Compliance experience at both State and Federal level
  • 3 years of People Management experience
  • 3 years of Project Management experience
  • 3 years of Vendor Management experience
  • 3 years of Contract Management experience

Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. This position includes onsite and remote work days. Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
