Position Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning and management of projects essential to executing the Asset Optimization plan and roadmap (people, sites, equipment, automation, and systems) for Manufacturing Operations. This role leads the planning and management of strategic initiative projects including facility moves, optimization, automation, and process enhancements to generate manufacturing site-level operational excellence. In addition, this role may lead the planning and management of key Manufacturing Operations automation projects. The Senior Engineering Project Manager analyzes data and provides input into the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for manufacturing site and systems optimization and alignment. This position coordinates key projects across STERIS cross-functional and outside resources effectively defining roles and responsibilities, key milestones, and deliverables to meet timelines and targeted results. The incumbent also analyzes data and develops and presents reports and analysis communicating effectively with team members, management, and cross-functional leaders.

What You'll do as a Senior Manufacturing Project Manager

  • Lead the planning and management of projects essential to executing the Asset Optimization plan and roadmap (people, sites, equipment, automation, and systems) for Manufacturing Operations.
  • Lead the planning and management of key Manufacturing Operations automation projects.
  • Lead the planning and management of strategic initiative projects including facility moves, optimization, automation, and process enhancements to generate manufacturing site-level operational excellence.
  • Analyze critical data to provide input into defining and supporting the continued implementation of major footprint projects (optimization, green and brownfield expansions) aligned to long-term, global strategy.
  • Analyze critical data to provide input for the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for manufacturing site and systems optimization and alignment.
  • Complete the analysis of manufacturing operation data to provide input and assist in identifying opportunities for productivity, efficiency, and cost improvements.
  • Lead key projects coordinating across STERIS cross-functional and outside resources effectively defining roles and responsibilities, key milestones, and deliverables to meet timelines and targeted results.
  • Develop and present reports and analysis communicating effectively with team members, management, and cross-functional leaders.


The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

Required:



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing business projects from concept to implementation
  • Minimum 7 years of business experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum 5 years of continuous improvement experience required
  • Knowledge and competency of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint



Preferred:



  • PMP certification
  • Experience working in a known Lean company with first-hand knowledge of their practices and policies

  • Demonstrated experience with using project management software
  • Demonstrated analytical and project management skills including data gathering, analysis, project planning development and execution
  • Strong analytical, creative problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Superior and demonstrated leadership, team building, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for Lean / Continuous Improvement effectively utilizing Lean principles within project execution
  • Ability to build strong relationships across various operational and business functions
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate ideas, goals and results to various audiences and levels
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships and complete tasks without direct accountability
  • Demonstrated ability as a collaborative, innovative and strategic thinker who is decisive and results oriented
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and time demands with a high level of urgency and personal integrity
