The Opportunity

Join our dynamic Translational Immunology department as a Scientist 3. This role is pivotal in advancing our understanding of preclinical endpoints through ex-vivo measurements from Immunology Discovery and Translational Immunology in vivo studies. You will conduct in-vitro assays to evaluate therapeutic candidates, leveraging automated data capture technologies to enhance our study throughput and consistency. Your work will be integral to identifying disease signatures in preclinical models and mapping them to clinical samples.

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct a high volume of in vivo work in mice and rats, including dosing, blood collection, and necropsy/tissue collection.

  • Independently design and execute experiments, coordinating with collaborating labs and departments as necessary.

  • Perform in vivo work, sample processing, data collection, and analysis.

  • Present data in various forums, including lab meetings, department meetings, and multifunctional project teams.

  • Collaborate with scientific managers within the Translational Immunology department to align project goals and strategies.

  • Work closely with Translational Immunology team members to foster a collaborative and productive research environment.

  • Engage with laboratory heads and researchers to integrate findings and advance shared research objectives.

  • Interact with other essential groups such as Pathology, Biomarkers, Clinical, Legal, and Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) to ensure comprehensive project support and compliance with organizational standards .

Who You Are

  • PhD in immunology (specializing in respiratory, COPD related), tissue regeneration, or neuro-inflammation.

  • 4+ years of experience in an academic or industry laboratory setting.

  • Proven experience in conducting and developing models for COPD, IPF, and fibrosis.

  • Expertise in dosing rodents via various routes (ip, sc, iv, po, it - oropharyngeal, passive inhalation, osmotic pump dosing).

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, flexibility, and ability to integrate detailed analysis in a disease-oriented context.

Preferred

  • Cell therapy experience is a plus.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $101,4000 - $188,200. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
