Job Description:

Fortinet is seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNAPP Systems Engineer (SSE) to be a key driver in the adoption of our cutting-edge FortiCNAPP solution, focused on Cloud-Native Application Protection, across the entire US. In this role, you will:



  • Collaborate closely with Customers, Account Managers, Solutions Engineers, Territory Leaders, and Cloud Consulting Architects to design and deliver well-architected FortiCNAPP solutions that address critical business needs for cloud security posture management, threat detection, and vulnerability management for customers throughout the United States.
  • Work with a wide range of applications, technologies, and skillsets: Our customers range from small businesses and MSPs to very large multinational corporations, presenting a diverse technical landscape. You will need to be familiar or have the ability to familiarize yourself quickly with different technologies, think quickly on your feet, and be responsive to customer objections and challenges.
  • Build relationships: Foster and maintain strong relationships with the Security Engineers and their leaders who are evaluating FortiCNAPP. These relationships will be leveraged to deeply understand their key business drivers and the corresponding technology requirements needed to meet those objectives.
  • Take ownership: Serve as the primary owner of the technical qualification process and the corresponding proof-of-concept ("proof event") for FortiCNAPP evaluations, guiding the technical aspects from initial qualification through to successful completion.


Responsibilities:



  • Provide technical guidance on Public Cloud matters to regional sellers and customers
  • Use and demonstrate automation services for cloud service provisioning
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • Design complex cloud networking architectures satisfying CSP best practices
  • Conduct proof of concepts
  • Lead customer-facing presentations
  • Lead training activities for internal partners and customers
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud security threats, trends, and Fortinet product updates relevant to public cloud environments


Requirements



  • Hands-on practioner experience with FortiCNAPP or similar solutions
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to capture customer technical successes and relate them back to business drivers
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas
  • Experience working in an environment with shifting priorities
  • Experience handling urgent issues while focusing on long term goals
  • Experience with utilizing monitoring solutions
  • Curiosity and the ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Familiarity Cyber Security best practices
  • 5+ years experience of the following

    • Cloud Native Applications
    • Containers & Virtualization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

  • Vulnerability Management Solutions
  • Cloud Infrastructure
  • Deep understanding of the following:
  • Deploying Cloud Applications



  1. Cloud Security Best Practices
  2. Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering (Computer, Electrical, or related), or a closely related technical field.
  • Equivalent industry experience and relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Advanced degree (Master's) in a relevant field is a plus.


Relevant industry certifications such as (a plus):



  • AWS Certified Security - Specialty
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • Google Cloud Certified - Security Engineer
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Other cloud platform-specific security certifications.

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. On target earnings for this position is expected to be $201,000 - $223,300 per year. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, and this position is also eligible for commissions based on the terms of the Sales Compensation Plan
