Job Description:

Position Overview

This position operates a forklift to lift, load, or move material. Inspects, maintains, and repairs forklift equipment as needed.Performs a variety of work related to the shipping, receiving and material control throughout the shop. Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Terex safety policies and procedures
  • Operate forklifts within TEREX Utilities' forklift policy/program to move and store material to support installation customers internally
  • May keep records of out-going materials on requisitions or forms and may fill out inventory location and disposition forms. May assist in unpacking shipments received or pack shipments for delivery
  • Move machines in and out of the building in a safe manor to support production.
  • Pull parts and deliver to bays in a timely manner following the guide lines of the load sheet.
  • Load and unload bodies in a safe manner
  • Access computer terminals for manufacturing codes, Bill of Materials, etc.
  • Organize and perform steps needed in sequence to keep work flowing through shop
  • Certain personal protective equipment is required
  • Must possess good mechanical aptitude
  • Perform other forklift and utility functions as needed
  • Maintain clean work area and participate in 5s standards
  • All other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience in material inventory

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints
  • Understand and demonstrate basic computer skills
  • Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
  • Computer skills, equipment operation, tool operation, judgment, interpersonal skills, math, reading and writing

Physical Requirements of the Job

Physical requirements of the job are classified as medium to heavy. Physical demand requirements are in excess of Light work. Medium to heavy work is defined as:

  • Exerting 20 to 100 pounds of force occasionally (0-2.5 hrs/day)
  • 25 to 40 pounds of force frequently (2.5-5.5 hrs/day)
  • 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly (5.5+ hrs/day) to move objects.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Ability to haveacceptable attendance for company standard; provides adequate notification; aware of impact on organization.

The salary range for this position is $21.63 to $26.55 per hour.
