Job Summary:

This position is responsible for recruiting providers to Acuity's worldwide provider network and acting as their primary liaison with the company. Extensive phone work is required; actively cold calling and negotiating pricing with providers on a national level. Strong documentation, interpretation, and follow-up are essential activities of this position. Interacts daily with providers' staff members and Acuity employees and managers internally. Reports to the Recruiting Manager, Provider Network Operations.

All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity is recognized.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform and/or provide direction and support for the following services:

  • After thorough research, professionally interacts and recruits potential medical facilities and clinics in support of the medical examination line of business through the building and maintenance of relationships with providers and office staff, with moderate need for direction.
  • Understands and negotiates, extends, and renegotiates exam component pricing on agreements and/or addendums with appropriate provider representatives as appropriate within specified guidelines.
  • Learns and uses basic knowledge of various software applications necessary to set up and maintain facility information as well as being capable of running simple reports to support recruitment efforts.
  • Collects and disseminates all Provider Service Agreement paperwork appropriately; identifies individuals for credentialing and communicates with the Credentialing Manager for further follow up.
  • Resolves complex issues that might include running advanced reports and resolving difficult provider calls with professional ease.
  • Understands assigned territory and is proactive in obtaining appropriate provider coverage.
  • Assists in basic and complex training of Recruiter 1 & 2 team members.
  • Has a thorough understanding of both Commercial & Government contract requirements and can communicate with the appropriate Program Managers to resolve issues.
  • Participates with Assistant Manager and Manager to both identify and offer potential solutions to complex issues; able to prioritize, train, and delegate special projects as directed.
  • Works as a member of a larger team to ensure the success of Acuity goals and assists in motivating team members to excel.
  • Attend meetings upon request of Director, Manager, or Assistant Manager.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 5-6 years of experience.
  • May participate in interdepartmental project groups or task forces to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain a specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, contract awards, and new policy requirements. Supports marketing/sales objectives and efforts as requested.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner. Follows the corporate safety policy. Participates and supports safety meetings, training, and goals. Ensures safe operating conditions within the area of responsibility. Encourages co-workers to work safely. Identifies "close calls" and/or safety concerns to supervisory personnel. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Assists in active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, JCAHO, AAAHC, NRCME (DOT) and other mandated regulations/standards.
  • Demonstrated comfort with negotiation process required. Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to thrive and multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; be comfortable with cold calling, and the ability to adapt to a change when needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred. Prior experience with negotiating in provider agreements or subcontracts a plus.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
