Overview: We are seeking a contractor to replace a senior team member. This role is crucial for supporting our Server 2012 project, which involves updating the Server OS from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2019.
Primary Responsibilities: * Server OS Upgrade: Update Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2019, including server builds and file migrations. Experience with in-place upgrades is beneficial. * Server Environment: Manage approximately 1600 servers, 90% of which are Windows-based. * Lifecycle/Refresh Work: Focus on building standards and documentation. * Business Acumen: Understand manufacturing environments and business demands. * Server Setup: Respond to business demands and set up servers accordingly. * Enterprise Processes: Follow formal change management and enterprise environment processes. * Ticket Triaging: Manage and triage tickets effectively. * VAR Collaboration: Work with Value-Added Resellers (VARs). * Server Patching: Perform regular server patching. * Citrix Servers: Update and manage Citrix servers, if needed. Team and Collaboration: * Center of Excellence Team: Part of a collaborative team supporting systems/server and data center functions across the Western Hemisphere, including the US, Canada, Mexico, and Latin America. * Mentorship: Each resource will be paired with a mentor for training and support. * Communication: Use Teams for collaboration and support. Role Scope: The Infrastructure Specialist II is integral to the Americas Center of Excellence team, responsible for infrastructure across remote sites and data centers. This role involves providing solutions and support to all our locations in the Americas and globally as needed. Key Responsibilities: * Solution Implementation: Coordinate and implement approved solutions across Business Groups. * IT Collaboration: Work closely with regional and local IT personnel to promote solutions. * Standards Maintenance: Enforce standards and prepare presentations to substantiate guidelines. * Service Provider Evaluation: Assess external resources for project implementation. * Functionality Improvement: Leverage existing systems to improve reliability and features. * Environment Maintenance: Maintain and improve server, backup, and storage environments. Skills and Qualifications: * Change Management: Effective communication, documentation, and training skills. * Technical Skills: Experience with server infrastructure services, storage, backup, Active Directory, and Citrix. * Project Management: Ability to lead small projects autonomously. * Ticket Management: Manage Service Now tickets for the Americas. * IT Operations: Ensure a stable and efficient environment. * Infrastructure Management: Implement, configure, manage, and monitor infrastructure. * Standardized Monitoring: Setup standardized systems monitoring across all Americas sites. * Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot server-related issues. * Support: Provide 3rd level support and act as a subject matter expert. * Collaboration: Work closely with IT Operations team members. * Project Participation: Plan, manage, and participate in local and regional infrastructure projects. * Documentation: Manage server and storage documentation and knowledge base. Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience/studies. * Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a technical IT environment. * Certifications: Microsoft Certifications (MCSE) preferred; ITIL and VMware VCP advantageous. * Skills: Windows, System administration, VMware, Systems engineering, Windows server, Infrastructure, Server administration, Scripting, Troubleshooting, Virtualization, Cloud, Automation, SolarWinds, Monitoring, ITIL. Additional Skills: * ITIL Environment: Experience in an ITIL environment or ITIL certification preferred. * Citrix: Experience with Citrix servers. * Monitoring: Experience with monitoring tools like SolarWinds. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
