Job Description

This Clinical Innovation role provides a unique opportunity to innovate and improve health care delivery across CuraCor Solutions, for our health plans and diversified assets. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and driving new clinical products, programs and projects across Blue Cross NC's health plan, care delivery, and third-party administrator (TPA) businesses to improve healthcare delivery, quality outcomes, and affordability for our members, providers, patients and the community.

To succeed in this role, you will leverage your healthcare experience, knowledge of market best practices and leading industry thinking to bring the best of Blue Cross NC's capabilities to our members, providers, and communities. This work will align with Blue Cross NC's mission to make healthcare better for all North Carolinians.

On site expectations at our Durham Campus: 1-2 times a month.

What You'll Do

  • Leverage in-depth understanding of Blue Cross NC's health plan, health care services, and CuraCor Group assets (care delivery / TPA) capabilities to build joint short/long term strategies that improve healthcare quality, outcomes, and affordability
  • Bring CuraCor Solutions assets into healthcare ideation to drive additional medical expense savings for our members and create additional revenue opportunities to fund our mission
  • Partner with cross-functional / cross-business teams to identify and design new initiatives and programs in alignment with the clinical innovation strategy, including quantifying the impact on member and provider outcomes and experience
  • Navigate the organization to effectively resolve initiative implementation barriers
  • Build cross functional portfolios of work across Clinical Innovation and Care Delivery / TPA businesses, ensuring successful delivery
  • Partner with health plans, diversified assets, partners, and vendors to monitor and measure impact of clinical innovation models, programs, and initiatives on an ongoing basis. This includes reporting on progress and outcomes to executive leadership and refining program approaches as needed based on results
  • Stay up to date on industry thought leadership related to clinical innovation and collaboration across the healthcare ecosystem

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
  • 8+ years of experience in related field.
  • In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field

Bonus Points

  • 10+ years of significant healthcare experience in a Payer, Health System or large Clinical Practice, ideally with deep knowledge of the healthcare landscape in North Carolina
  • 7+ years of proven results in designing and implementing large scale clinical programs and projects
  • Executive level presentation experience including building/socializing plans
  • Deep understanding of health insurance and provider business model economics, capabilities, and operations
  • Proven ability to lead, drive and communicate novel, innovative clinical program implementations effectively to cross functional partners and leadership, and working through challenges with appropriate stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to directly inform program design and support novel and innovative clinical programs
  • Solid strategic, analytic and critical thinking skills with proven ability in designing, implementing and ongoing evaluation of program outcomes
  • Resourceful, highly organized self-starter who can be flexible and navigate uncertainty
  • Ability to lead by influence in a matrixed organization
  • A background with active clinical experience may be helpful

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs.

*Based on annual corporate goal achievement and individual performance.

$105,600.00 - $191,800.00
