The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Student Disability Services, the Testing Center Coordinator is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Student Accessibility Services Testing Center, ensuring a secure, accessible, and accommodating environment for students requiring academic testing accommodations. This position oversees exam scheduling, proctoring, and administration while collaborating with faculty, students, and staff to maintain compliance with university policies and accessibility regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the scheduling and administration of accommodated exams, including extended time, alternative formats, and assistive technology needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty and students regarding test accommodations, procedures, and policies while utilizing the SAS Testing Center.
  • Ensure a secure testing environment by implementing and enforcing academic integrity policies.
  • Manage and maintain the online exam scheduling system, ensuring accurate and timely communication between students, faculty, and the SAS Testing Center.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise student workers and proctors to support the administration of exams.
  • Maintain confidential records related to test accommodations and ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504, and university policies.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the SAS Testing Center operations.
  • Collaborate with Student Accessibility Services and other campus departments to provide appropriate accommodations and services for exams.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to testing software, assistive technology, and exam materials to ensure smooth test administration.
  • Prepare reports on testing center usage, accommodation trends, and compliance with institutional policies.
  • Assist with outreach efforts, including faculty training and student workshops, to promote awareness of testing accommodations and accessibility services.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of SAS Testing Center supplies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education, student affairs, disability services, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with online scheduling or student management systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in compliance with FERPA and other privacy laws.
  • Knowledge of ADA, Section 504, and other relevant laws related to student accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a testing center, student accessibility services, or academic support role.
  • Knowledge of assistive technology used in testing environments (e.g., screen readers, speech-to-text).
  • Experience using accommodation management platforms, such as AIM (Accessible Information Management), ClockWork, or similar systems.
  • Understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and inclusive teaching/testing practices.
  • Familiarity with academic policies and procedures related to testing, exams, and grading in a university setting.
  • Customer service or case management experience, especially with diverse student populations.
