Job Summary

The Office of Advancement for the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences (CASE) uses a strategic, integrated communication approach to convey the importance of private support and encourage long-term engagement with the college. Produces digital and print content to raise awareness of philanthropic opportunities, illustrate the impact of private support in areas ranging from scholarships and professorships to facilities, communicate progress toward the college's strategic goals and priorities and inspire constituents to help build a culture of philanthropy in the College. This position reports directly to the College's Executive Director for Advancement.

  • Creates compelling, persuasive, and concise content in support of philanthropic priorities, which may include writing and editing solicitation, stewardship and cultivation materials, event and video remarks and scripts, acknowledgment letters, digital communications, and more.
  • Crafts on-brand and compelling content for time-sensitive projects that support the discovery, cultivation, fundraising, and stewardship goals of the CASE office of advancement.
  • Creates and implements a strategy to deliver mission-based, customized, and evergreen donor-facing materials that help CASE team members advance relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
  • Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement, the advancement communications officer will be a key partner to imagine, plan, create and implement strategic communications conveying the impact of philanthropy to a variety of audiences
  • Produces principal and major gift level collateral and confidential materials, such as proposals and case statements as well as donor stewardship and impact materials.
  • Reviews and edits alumni & donor communications.
  • Attends and supports unit and university philanthropy-related events as appropriate.
  • Support for designated CASE giving days and other digital communications as appropriate.
  • Performs related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of work experience in digital design/publication agency environments as content strategist, copywriter, or an editorial related field.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in professional writing and editing for higher education, nonprofit work or the communications/public relations fields.

Experience working with graphic design teams to create event programs, slides decks and major gift level collateral and other print and digital materials requiring design.

Experience with Salesforce or other CRMs.
