Job Overview

TheWelder Dwill contribute to the production of high-quality weldments using manual and mechanized welding techniques. This role will be responsible for setting up and operating various welding equipment, handling materials, and ensuring welds meet quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for welders who take pride in their craftsmanship and are committed to safety and precision.

Key Job Responsibilities


  • Perform manual and mechanized welding using FCAW process in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical).



  • Read and interpretwork instructions, drawings, and specificationsto determine welding requirements.



  • Set up and operatepreheating equipment, weld positioners, and material handling equipmentsuch as jib hoists, cranes, and forklifts.



  • Position and secure weldments using appropriatehitching and material handling techniques.



  • Executesingle and multiple pass fillet and groove weldsin all positions, including confined spaces and extended reach areas.



  • Performair carbon arc gouging and post-weld finishing operationsas required.



  • Inspect completed welds for propersize, appearance, and quality, making necessary repairs as needed.



  • Maintain aclean and organizedwork area while ensuring adherence to safety procedures and PPE requirements.



  • Conduct routinemaintenance on welding equipmentand assist in correcting any identified issues in drawings or procedures.



Qualifications/Requirements


  • High school diploma or GEDand Welding Certification required.



  • Ability to use various welding techniques using Flux-Core Arc welding in flat, horizontal and vertical positions.



  • Experience withcarbon and alloy steelsand various welding consumables.



  • Ability to operatematerial handling equipment, including forklifts, jib hoists, and cranes.



  • Familiarity withoxy-fuel cutting torches, air arcing equipment, and fall protection systems.



  • Strong ability to work inconfined spaces, awkward positions, and at heightsusing scaffolds, ladders, and man lifts.



  • Knowledge ofwelding parameters, shielding gases, and electrode selectionfor various joint types and positions.
