Van Driver (Local Government) (Part-time) - Wayne Co Area Agency on Aging (Multiple Vacancies)

The Wayne County Area Agency on Aging is seeking a Van Driver to interact with and provide a necessary service to those Wayne County residents in need of door-to-door transportation service. As a Van Driver, you will enhance the mobility of consumers by providing professional and accessible transportation in a safe, reliable, comfortable, and courteous manner. In this position, you will operate a county vehicle and drive an average of 150 miles each day. You will provide transportation service, as well as social contact for our consumers, including senior adults and wheelchair-dependent people. You can expect to communicate in person and via two-way radio and assist consumers along rough payment or unpaved paths. This position requires the ability to easily adjust in daily schedule. Additionally, you will be providing important assistance and socialization throughout the day.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Part-time employment, 14 to 21 hours per week
• Transportation operates 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and limited hours on Saturdays
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of employment which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
