DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Legal Office Administrator 1, you will play a crucial role in providing both administrative and legal support to the Transactions Division of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Office of Chief Counsel (PennDOT OCC). Your responsibilities will encompass coordinating the legal review process for contracts, managing various databases, and preparing memos and other forms of correspondence essential to the division's operations. In this position, you will have the chance to independently address a range of matters with varying degrees of complexity, which will involve interpreting and applying the Commonwealth's contracting policies and guidelines. Additionally, you will be expected to identify and recommend improvements to the contracting processes. The ideal candidate for this role will possess experience in preparing and proofreading contracts, drafting legal correspondence, or have other relevant professional legal experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of legal documentation and procedures. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week, upon successful completion of the required training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of varied office management or staff work within a public or private legal office.
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess good interpersonal skills, including active listening, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
