Title: Global Process Safety Director
Location: Houston, TX. Additional location may include Lake Jackson, TX.

Salary: $178,200 - $258,036
Relocation Available

Focus: The Global Process Safety Director is responsible for developing the Process Safety Strategy of the corporation in close cooperation with the Vice President of EH&S. This role is accountable for leading and continuously improving upon the effectiveness and practicality of the Process Safety Strategy with an end-result of driving to zero process safety incidents.

The Global Process Safety Director will ensure the management systems of the facilities meet all process safety regulatory and company requirements. This role must collaborate with facility leaders, other company process safety resources and business leaders to develop and implement a strategy that ensure robust process safety management systems and a healthy process safety culture.

Global Process Safety Director Essential Job Functions:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert in applicable process safety regulations and Olin's process safety management systems.
  • Lead, mentor and coach a team of Process Safety Technology Leaders.
  • Ensure OSHA, PSM, EPA RMP and International process safety regulatory related compliance along with interpreting pending regulatory changes and their potential impact to Olin.
  • Develop and prioritize Process Safety related risk reduction strategies.
  • Develop and lead implementation of Process Safety Management systems improvement and sustainability strategies.
  • Gather feedback on site and Olin's process safety culture by engaging with site EH&S teams through independent site visits and active participation in facility process safety program elements.
  • Provide training, leadership, counsel, and technical assistance to facilities in the functional area of process safety.
  • Develop, track, and report Process Safety KPIs.
  • Lead and participate in incident investigations. Facilitate effectiveness of these investigations in determining root causes and corrective actions.
  • Support facilities in PSM audits, participate in the review of audit results and support development of effective audit responses.
  • Represent the facility in agency interactions and responses related to OSHA, PSM, and EPA RMP.

Global Process Safety Director Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree* in Chemical, Mechanical or other Engineering discipline; Master's Degree* preferred.
  • 10+ years of work experience in a Chemicals manufacturing environment required; production leadership experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of process safety experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of State/Federal OSHA, PSM, and EPA RMP compliance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to present complex topics in a concise manner. Strong interpersonal skills.
  • High energy and passion for excellence, bias for action, adaptability, and resilience.
  • Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license.
  • Domestic and International travel required. Travel may exceed 30% of the time.

*Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
