BlueHalo has an immediate opening for a Vision Intern to support the Flash and Laser Airborne Protection Systems (FLAPS) program. This position will be located at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate's Photonic Materials Branch, at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH. The FLAPS program involves developing aircrew eye protection to mitigate visual hazards, like flash blindness and laser glare, to ensure effective performance in contested environments. Technology development encompasses advanced filtering technologies across multiple wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum. The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest and basic classwork in vision science and the interaction between eyes and brain. Representative studies may include:
