JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Employee Assistance Program Counselor DEPARTMENT OF Human Resources Number of Positions: 1 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $94,500 Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59 pm CDT on 06/03/2024 Under general supervision, the class coordinates the administration, development, and implementation of a specific project or program of moderate size and scope for a city department; and performs related duties as required Positions assigned to this classification are excluded from bargaining union representation based on supervisory, managerial, or confidential authority requirements within the labor relations act. ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Develops and administers the City's EAP; oversees the day-to-day operations * Develops the EAP program objectives and performance measures * Conduct confidential assessments to determine the needs of employees seeking assistance * Provides counseling and long-term psychotherapy to employees and ensures that the delivery of EAP services follows state and federal standards
* Provides referrals and links with outside agencies to obtain additional services needed by employees * Performs case management services to employees, including follow-up * Maintains program records and prepares statistical and narrative reports of program activities and accomplishments
* Develops and delivers a strategic marketing plan for the City's EAP, including the creation of promotional materials (i.e., brochures, flyers, and e-mails) to market EAP services to increase the usage by employees * Assists in the implementation of administrative policies, programs, and activities for an EAP program. * Develops and delivers training and presentations to familiarize employees with EAP services Additional duties may be required for this position Location: 121 N LaSalle St. Room 1100 Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 8:30 - 4:30 THIS POSITION IS IN CAREER SERVICE Qualifications
