Title: Intern (Information Technology) Location: Lockport, LA Position Overview: We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented IT intern to join our team. This role offers a valuable opportunity to work alongside experienced IT professionals and gain practical experience across a wide range of areas, including software analysis and development, system implementation, vendor management, network administration, business relationship management, and cybersecurity. Key Responsibilities: Technical Support & Help Desk * Support the team with basic installation, setup, and troubleshooting of computers, software, and network equipment under guidance. * Assist users with common technical issues through email, phone, or in person, with help from more experienced team members when needed. * Help create and manage user accounts and permissions following step-by-step instructions. * Perform routine checks to help monitor and maintain computer systems and network performance. Cybersecurity * Learn and assist with cybersecurity basics, such as updating antivirus software and following security procedures. * Follow IT policies and learn best practices through training and on-the-job experience. Software Development & Application Support * Provide support on software projects by learning to write, test, and fix simple code with supervision. Data Management & Backup * Help with data tasks like entering information, running backups, and learning how recovery processes work. IT Asset Management * Assist in organizing IT equipment and coordinating with vendors as part of asset tracking and inventory. Documentation & Knowledge Management * Help update and organize technical documents, user guides, and process notes for future reference. Research & IT Improvement * Research simple technology solutions and share findings with the team to support IT improvements. Training & Professional Development * Observe and learn from experienced IT staff to gain a deeper understanding of systems and workflows. * Participate in training sessions to build technical knowledge and grow in the role. General Administrative & Team Support * Take on other tasks as assigned by your manager to support the team. * Be available to work overtime if necessary and maintain regular, on-time attendance.
