Overview Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, air conditioners, etc. | Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose malfunctions | Adjusts, cleans and lubricates parts of mechanical devices as necessary | Requisitions replacement parts and equipment | Oversees contractors at supervisory/management level Major Position Responsibilities Supervises the installation, operation, testing, and adjustment of various types of conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments. Oversees fabrication and modification of parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Oversees preventive maintenance, repair, inspection, and calibration processes to identify wear, damage, or leaks, replace filters or belts, or apply lubrication to mechanical devices. Supervises measurement, examination, and testing of completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications. Manages replacement and spare part inventory at required levels. Selects, schedules, and coordinates vendors and outside service providers for specialized repairs or maintenance projects. Ensures all work and material handling follow established safety procedures and regulations. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from HR & General Managers. Basic Qualifications Required Education: Vocational/Technical Training Degree Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education & Experience Preferred Education: Associate's Degree Years and Area of Experience (requiredfor the role): 3-5 years of relevant experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Calibration. Mechanical troubleshooting. Preventative maintenance. Reading blueprints/diagrams. Spare parts management. Leadership skills. Supervision. Critical Professional Related Technical Skills; Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) |
