Working at Watlow

Watlow is a global technology and manufacturing leader who provides world class engineering expertise through innovative thermal products and systems, enabling our customers to thrive. We are making a positive impact every day as our solutions enrich the lives of people everywhere. We have been providing breakthrough thermal solutions for nearly a century. Our corporate values guide us uncompromisingly to always do the right thing, continually learn and improve, respect everyone, and lead with service and humility.

About the Role

At Watlow, we are helping customers transition away from fossil fuels by developing electric thermal solutions that are smarter, cleaner, and more efficient. As an Engineer I based in Hannibal, Missouri, you'll join a collaborative product development team building next-generation electric heat exchangers-solutions that help industrial customers electrify and decarbonize their processes.

This is a hands-on, early-career engineering role where you'll contribute across the full product lifecycle-from concept to prototype to production. You'll gain exposure to the entire product development cycle, work on cutting-edge projects in sustainable process technologies and medium voltage systems, and grow your technical skills while contributing to a mission that matters-reducing global emissions. From day one, you'll be empowered to learn, collaborate, and make a real impact.

This opportunity is based in Hannibal, Missouri-a welcoming small town along the Mississippi River with a rich history, beautiful natural surroundings, and access to outdoor recreation like hiking, boating, and fishing. It's a place where you don't have to choose between career growth and quality of life-you can have both.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and test new electrical heat exchanger systems.
  • Support development of medium voltage solutions (up to 7200V) that reduce current draw and enable electrification at scale.
  • Translate design concepts into SolidWorks models and proof-of-concept samples.
  • Develop and execute test plans, analyze performance data, and document technical learnings.
  • Help assemble and evaluate prototypes and production units, especially for medium voltage orders through the end of 2025.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure concepts are scalable and manufacturable.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or a related technical field)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of or interest in 3D printing, PLCs, LabVIEW, or electrical controls-you don't need to know it all, but a curiosity to learn is key.
  • A hands-on mindset with the desire to solve technical problems and bring concepts to life.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Hannibal, Missouri-where career-building opportunities and small-town charm meet.
